Spooky Cupcake Ideas, Please

My neighborhood is having it's final BBQ of the year in a few weeks. I will be making dozens and dozens of cupcakes to contribute and thought Halloween ones might be fun for the children. I am not very creative. Anyone have suggestions how to decorate them? Also fall themed ones would be good also.

I have a few easy ones saved on pinterest. If it exists, it's on pinterest! Not so spooky, as cute and easy. Apparently all sponsored by oreo!

If you Google "spooky Halloween cupcakes", you'll get dozens of great ideas from simple to complex. Wow! I wish I had a reason to make some!

I hate those ball things. They're like biting into rocks. I vote sprinkles! For the cones, I think I'd either make a waffle cone or more likely just go with the regular sugar cone. It's actually closer to a real microphone than a chocolate color would be. Yes there's a few black microphones often with yellow windscreens but most professional mics are that "gunmetal" color, gray-like. And for another effect, I'd go one step farther and put some black licorice whips on the cones for a mic cord.

None taken Maime. I don't get sucked in anymore. I used to--and yeah, I used to get a perverse sense of satisfaction in being *right* but I don't get that, anymore. I mean, occasionally, I will have the odd chuckle to myself at BM's expense, but trust me---she doesn't live in my head anymore! thank God. I've been there and it wasn't good. Since April--the last 7 months have been the most peaceful of my relationship with DH. NOT having contact from BM has been so awesome for me. Unfortunately, my DH will not, for whatever reason, cut her out of his life. He takes her calls, relays info, etc. I can't change him, though. Anyway, if you read through my posts--where I was 1 year ago with her is so much worse than where I am now. I admit, she still bugs me at times---but it is nothing near what it used to be. You are kind of seeing a skewed view of things, too, because when things happen, I might post about them here. But what's different with me now as opposed to a year ago is that I LEAVE IT HERE now. I don't talk to my family/friends about the drama. Thankfully, the drama is really at a minimun now, but even so---when it does occur---I discuss it HERE and that's that. So it might *seem* like her BS is affecting me more than it is. That's the great thing, at least for me, about this forum---I have a place to get things out, hear other perspectives, etc. And then it helps me to leave the negativity "online" and to live my life.

Some favorites from last year:

These were the easiest ones to make, too. Visit a local craft store like Michaels for amazing cupcake decorating supplies. Candy eyes are great! I bought several colors of eyes....spiders should have crazy eyes!

I made others, too, but spent time with my icing tips. Cutest was a mummy face with eyes peeking from behind the bandages, lol.

You can find candy corn, leaves, and other fall themed edibles at a craft store....some at the grocery store. Simple: pumpkin cupcake, cream cheesey frosting, candy corn and pumpkins on top. Maybe a light dusting of orange sugar sand, too.

Use the internet for ideas, for heaven's sake!

Be sure to use an assembly line method for decorating....first the sprinkles on the whole batch, then the legs, then the eyes. Have the boxes ready when each is finished so that you can pack them up right away.

The kit kats were all lined up well but I think I bumped them moving the cake.
