OMG! Shocking to me that anyone would have this done and equally shocking that others actually do it. This is art? Why not just stick a pin in your eye and be done?

I have four tattoo's, my most recent was a memorial one for my son who died four years ago. I got it on July 29th. I love them! I am already planning my fifth. And when my grandson learns to print his name, no matter how terrible it is (letters backwards, etc.) I'm getting his name put on me too. But who in their right mind tattoos their eyeballs??????????????????? I saw an article the other day and thought it was a joke. Why would anyone take that chance?

I don't dare look at pictures of this insanity. Having AMD...and having to tolerate and attempt to see through clouded areas...I can only pray that anyone who is foolish enough to partake in this apparent fad will not be faced with what I tolerate day and day out. IMO they're volunteering for this handicap. What utter madness!!!!

She had purple tattooed into the white of her eye. This could end up being the biggest mistake of her life. I googled images of her, very pretty model, Catt Gallinger. Maybe she was just pushing the envelope for something new and extreme. I think she's blaming the artist that did it for using the wrong needle.

It is insane and should be outlawed. Sight is not something to throw away or risk.

I'm not even going to look at the photos. I can barely steel myself against reflexive flinching when my ophthalmologist applies drops for an exam. And I can't avoid it if his assistant tries, something about her approach - and I blink every time.

You know, I try not to be judgmental about people's choices, but this girl... "Her boyfriend of one month kept pressuring her and so she let him...". I know she's only 24 years old, but still...she needs to get a spine and some common sense.

I have a few small tattoos but to even bring a needle anywhere near your eyeball....words escape me.

You can't just "replace" an eye. You screw up your vision and you are permanently screwed.

A single mistake, one time of forgetting to put back on the safety goggles after being interrupted, my husband was hit in the eye with a chunk of wood and lost a good chunk of his vision.

Why a person would willingly doing this for "fun" or "art" is beyond me.

I try not to imagine what the step following this one was going to be! I hope others that would be inclined to get the procedure take note of her warnings. That is a rough consequence lesson. For the most part, I don't care if people want to make artistic body modifications. But really, it seems stupid to even want to do this procedure. However, I'm leery of even having Lasik done...

I read an article where the researchers tested for the metal compounds used in tattoo ink and it was getting filtered by the body into the lymph nodes.

Mentally ill, or way out of touch with reality? Who with any concept of what your body is made of, would equate "skin" with "eyeball"?

I'm not clicking on any link -- I don't care to see yucky stuff. (Regular tattoos are NOT yucky, in my opinion).

I've seen a few people that have had this done. (not in person) I think the ones I have seen were people that had been in prison. But another tattoo "fad" I have seen is people tattooing a whole arm black. I just saw a guy at the store last night with one arm tattooed all black. I don't mind tattoos and piercings and such but there is just certain things that shouldn't be done. Like tattooing an eye. Why risk it?

Yes, tattoos are a topic about which people tend to have opinions. I do. I'm pretty unprejudiced and open-minded concerning the rainbow of people in our communities, who they are and what they do but that open-mindedness doesn't extend to the body graffiti fad. I think tattoos are hideous and suggest (to me) a lack of good judgement and other problems in a person's life. Boredom with one's life is high on that list for the tattooed people I know.

From inked (almost all sound positive. And positively none are boredom or lack self confidence).

• To feel whole.
• To overcome.
• You love the art.
• To spread a message.
• To be spontaneous.
• To be trendy.

I have no need to do a Google search, rob, I'm describing people I know. I see similar indications in people who have tattoos I meet and know less well.
