REO Next Door

The home across the creek from our property was foreclosed upon in May. The owner gave up trying to sell it ($1.5K). She'd lived there for decades, but had neglected the property over the last several years. Now it's a deserted 1970's-Modern house on 2.5 acres of overgrown land.

Fortunately for us, we only see a wall of mature trees on that side of the creek, but there are also dead trees overhanging the house. I imagine there's some interesting wild life in there, too.

I know that Fifth Third Bank owns the property. Should I contact them? I think banks are generally poor owners of real estate, but they might care that the house is endangered. Do they employ people to look after REO's?

Should I just mind my own business? The property will sell -- once the bank 'gets around to it'.
