What a great reading nook! I don't think this room needs much help at all. You have a rug and curtains all set. You will eventually get a seat cushion. There is a lovely space for some art- no need to rush that- the right pictures will appear. I would start with some throw pillows that will work with the eventual seat cushion you buy. I would consider if the space could use a console table opposite the bench. A nice landing spot for some books and magazines and a cup of tea. Would some sconces look good on the wall with the bench? Maybe you could decorate the bench wall with a framed wallpaper panel (framed with moulding, not picture framed.) I am always concerned about where my head rests when there is a bench against a wall like that- so it limits art installation.

But really and truly you have a great space. Don't rush yourself. It will come together very nicely.

Thank you, Rita. I will definitely look for throw pillows. A kind of furniture to store books/magazines sounds so great too... I just can't find the right width because the window by that wall is a little too low. What is the framed wallpaper panel that you mentioned? Is it something like this?

Yes, that is exactly the kind of thing I had in mind. I'll look for narrow console tables later. I am in the middle of some work right now.

I can't post pictures from my iPad. Could you have a wall mounted console table on the wall opposite the bench? I saw one that was a combination drawer and shelf- very plain and modern lines. I also saw one that was curvy, with one bigger bump out and one smaller- kind of cool and organic looking. I'll post pictures soon. I Googled wall mounted console table.

Lovely little nook. In my personal opinion, plants make everything cozier. A dwarf lemon or avocado tree could really draw you in there to relax.
