Comments (6)If it's a reading room, you'll need good directed lighting by each chair - maybe one floor lamp and one or two nice reading lamps on side tables? And you'll want comfy footrests/ottomans to go with the furniture, of course. ;-) I'm a huge eBay buff, and you can also find a lot of things on CraigsList in your area - just be picky and take your time to find the treasures buried amongst the junk. Also: I suggest that you wait until you're actually IN the house and using the room before making your final decisions on furniture? You might find that the best window light falls somewhere you can't fit the couch, or the bookshelves take up the exact spot where you planned to put the chair....See MoreHas anyone read 'Flip for Decorating?'
Comments (3)hi, i think this decorator has been on today or gma a lot. i have seen her on lots of stuff. she is more into organization and selling pottery barn than decorating, it's a lot of the same stuff you see preached here everyday, about doing things in 3's or any odd numbers, working with height, balance, color, pruning your collections, cleanliness is next to decorativeness, etc. some of her stuff is very basic but really great stuff for those who want to start at the bottom and work up as far as learning proportion, color (she does a lot on using white with all the 8 colors, organizing), teaching you how to decorate bookshelves, collect and edit your collections....See Moredeedeetemp
