Get the samples and try them in your space. You could also add Grey Owl to your list to try.

Get a sample of paint in your colors - paint BIG cardboard swatches and tape them to the wall in each space to see how the light plays with it. Sample paint is usually different (cheaper) than the good stuff, so do not put it directly on the wall - you'l notice the sheen & have to sand it down later - total pain in the butt.

SW Mindful Gray is very pretty

I'd make sure to keep the grays light. Mindful and Dovetail are both a bit dark for my tastes. Dovetail might work for an accent wall but I'd hate to see a huge airy space like that with such a dark tone which could be as dreary as the current tan and yellow. I'd use Gray Owl and Eider White. Post some pics later when you finish!

I think that would look great, the darker on the stairs. I also agree with the lighter grays. But I am certainly not a professional! Can't wait to see the pictures!
