Looks good! I was hoping to use the blinds, but may have to cough up some $$$ for a new look.

The woven wood blinds would also add some visual warmth, which I think is also missing from your current treatment. The rest of the room is so warm and cozy looking, and the current blinds are sort of cold and stark in comparison. I don't think you'd even need to hang them high and add curtains. Just replace what you have with simple woven shades and it would make a big difference. I have woven wood shades in my family room and living room w/out drapes.

While I'm spending your money, I would also get a slightly larger, round end table to put beside the chair to fill out the space a bit.

Home Depot has some otc fabric shades that run around 40 to 60 dollars and they're gorgeous. My grand bought them and they look stunning.

2 pups, I did not spend a lot on my panels and shades. Each shade was less than 50.00 and the panels were also under 50.00. Check out Ikea for good prices on curtain panels. For the shades look at overstock and other online sites. You might find some deals at Home Depot or Lowes.

For the rod, check out Ikea, Ross, Home Depot (I think I got a couple there) or other discount stores etc. I bought a couple of dirt cheap flimsy rods and bent them myself. That was how flimsy they were (that I was able to simply bend them myself). However, they worked!

You just need to think out of the box and you can make them look fabulous for cheap.

I would do three curved roman shades. They can be stationary, which would bring the cost down. And, you can keep the blinds.

I like the simple you have but I also really like the look Aktillery created in her old house.
