Comments (4)It really would be much happier back in a pot with growing medium. Hydroponics is complicated and nothing is 'meant' to be grown that way. It doesn't just mean sticking a plant in water. Does it smell bad? It almost looks as if the water has gone stagnant and anaerobic and is producing gas. Purple is right - the poor thing is on the verge of death. The blackened tips are rot - nothing fancy to do with nutrients. The new leaves are a last desperate attempt to stay alive. I would repot urgently and keep your fingers firmly crossed. Comments (5)That usually means that the rosettes are water starved due to dead roots or stems. Your plant needs to have the rosettes beheaded in order to correct abnormal growth from inadequate light. Leave less than two inches of stem, then let he cut ends dry in air for a few days, then plant in dry porous soil, at least 75% inorganic materials like perlite, pumice, gravel etc. Your current soil looks terrible, mostly peat which should be avoided. It will take a few weeks for the cuttings to grow roots. Do not water until you see signs of growth. Give lots of light, your plant is etiolated, growing abnormally, making ID difficult. It's probably an Echeveria or Graptoveria, or a hybrid. Brad...See Moremy austrian copper looks bad...please help me!!
Comments (1)Hi Christina, You landed in the wrong forum, but let's try to help anyway. Your rose has "black spot"; it's caused by a fungus. It won't kill the rose, but will make the plant look ugly for a while. You'll be surprised at how the leaves will grow back and it will look healthy again. It will also probably get black spot again, and it will keep going through this cycle. The fungus that causes black spot loves heat and humidity. You might want to try a fungicide. There are a number of them available at the various big box stores, like Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Or you can get one from your local nursery. Most fungicides are used as a preventative, so you treat healthy foliage to prevent the fungus from spreading. I would start out using the Safer product line. It's very important to used fungicides regularly. Don't be like me and use it once or twice and then forget about it. :-) Another fungicide that I like is called Infuse. It is a liquid and comes in a small bottle that costs around $10.00. You mix it in a sprayer with water and spray the leaves. Just follow the directions on the label/bottle. Btw, that $10.00 bottle will last a long time for only one plant, because you only mix a tablespoon or two in a gallon of water. I would recommend that you spray in the evening; some fungicides, when used in strong sunlight, will burn the leaves. If you spray in the evening, right around sunset, there will be little or no damage to the leaves. Below is a link to a forum where you can get some good advice. I hope you ask the question there. Believe me, black spot is a common problem, particularly in humid areas. All the best! Here is a link that might be useful: The Roses Forum...See MorePlease Help!! Wolf or Thermador AG??!!
Comments (1)I had the GE Monogram 48 inch range top with four burners, the griddle and the grill in my house in Utah. I don't have experience with the Wolf. One of the things I liked about the GE was that all of the burners were capable of simmering or full blast. You mentioned that you like to use a wok. The GE Monogram has reversible grills that allow you to use a wok without the need for a ring. We got a good deal on our GE products and also purchased the Monogram hood. It really moves some air. If you are planning to cook with high heat and grease, you should definitely get a good hood to go with your cook top. The griddle is nice. We didn't use it as much as the grill. Living in an area with winter, it was convenient to grill a steak or shish kabob inside. Two of my neighbors in Utah had the Wolf with a downdraft hood. The Wolf is a very nice cook top. Both of my neighbors complained that the downdraft hoods did not exhaust as much of the cooking odors as they would like. I don't think you can go wrong with either cook top. Enjoy!...See MoreSabji garden (7b), Raleigh NC
