If you lose (not loose) a bookmark to this forum, simply do a search for "garden web kitchen table"

I get a reply in my in box. I click it to read it in the forum. After I've read it, at the top of that page is a button that says Kitchen Table. Just that button. No other buttons. Clicking that button does not take me to the Kitchen Table and worse yet it sends me though arrows that I am not at all interested in following. The old KT took me back to the list of forums on the left and the KT heading page as the "home" page where all the KT forum posts are listed.

Then this. If I don't choose any topics I can't go on. Several were already prechosen for me and I unchecked that box. Now I'm at a dead end and the only way I can choose which forum I want to read is to close that window and go to my GW bookmarked page that lists all the GW forums. PITA

It looks like maybe they changed the contents of the address your bookmark points to. Websites do that often. Try my suggestion. And if you like that destination better, prepare a new bookmark and delete the old one.

Read my original post. Then read these last 2 posts I made. I HAVE a working bookmark to the page I want. I am being redirected by houzz after I leave a particular post and attempt to see what else is new at that forum. Understand?

This is my bookmark, and it always takes me to the Kitchen Table... just not to a page like you describe. Maybe, you can try mine?

The same thing has been happening to me, for the last week or so. You can access home forums and then this forum from there from the Advice heading at the top of the page, but it is an extra step.

I'mhappy--try emptying your cache of cookies, history, etc. That's what fixed my problem (Houzz suggestion). If you still have trouble, go to "contact us" and share your troubles.

I'm on my other computer now and it's the same way. I don't want to delete my history. I use it all the time. AND I just changed passwords everywhere. Long complicated ones!

To the right of Find Professionals is the heading Stories and Advice, with Garden web discussions under it.

You don't have to delete the history or cookies just the cache which will not affect any of your stuff. But it does often fix those types of problems.

You can also always click on your houzz icon at the top right, your houzz, and then there you can find your activity. That shows you every post you have been on. You can click on them to get where you want to go.

Not sounding too happy right now :-)))).........Sometimes these issues disappear in a couple of days. Maybe the issues will correct themselves.....fingers crossed.

I don't use the Notifications but anytime I want to navigate back to the KT from any other GW or Houzz page, I just click on my browser bookmark for the KT. Much simpler and faster.

I have the same experience. To get around it, I don't click on anything at top of that screen. Instead, I type ki or kit in my address bar, and click on the Kitchen Table from the websites I'm offered.

On a mac and am unable to see and/or post pics when using Firefox. I can see and post pics okay with Safari without problem...just prefer to use Firefox. Anybody else have this problem?

1. I don't use Houzz. On my MacBook I have a list of bookmarks. For these forums the web address is

mine is, too. It's after I get here and want to see what else is being talked about that I can't without doing the houzz survey. Which means they'll advertise all sorts of carp that I am not at all interested in.

I think once you fill out the screen, it doesn't come back again. I assumed it was for houzz to know what articles to put on the main page.

I type into Google, Thathomesite and it brings up some selections. Then I just choose Kitchen Table Garden Web. Takes me right here to the KT. Easy peasy.

Imhappy, are you clicking on the greyed button that says "The Kitchen Table" (in the upper left of the screenshot in your post, about 10 posts or so above this one)?

I have discovered it NEVER is a good idea to click on one of those greyed buttons. I ran into this on the gardenweb side. Clicking on one of those takes you to never never land, down a rabbit hole somewhere. I was lost.

After I read a post, to go back I use the back button, clear at the top of my screen just to the left of the url address line.

Littlebug, the problem is there's no back button when you access a thread via an emailed notification. When you do that, it opens a new tab to view the message--therefore, there's no "back" to return to.

I agree it's a mistake to click on the greyed buttons. (Why does Houzz do that??) That's why I start over, putting the Kitchen Table in my URL address bar. Or I just delete the new tab and find the KT on another tab. (I always have too many tabs open.)

Haven't had any problems. I have kitchen table in my bookmarks on my phone and a shortcut on the iPad screen. Laptop is is in my favorites and always comes right to the site.

I have no idea what the problem is you're talking about. But if you save the KT to your favourites bar, you'll always end up where you want to be: here. :)

OP: I have the same issue, but only with certain forums. The Kitchen Table works fine (i.e. I have green text links to get back to the Kitchen forum topic list or the Garden Web forum list at the top of the page when I read a topic), but if I read a topic in Landscape Design, I get the grey bubble, and clicking it takes me back to some Houzz hellhole. I usually get around it by just typing gardenweb into my browser, but it is very annoying. I've seen posts on other forums regarding a fix, but who knows if they're actually working on one. Just wanted you to know, it's not just you!

I bookmarked ths.gardenweb.com and have no problem navigating any of the forums.

I get that it's not your bookmark Imhappy. I hope the glitch disappears for you.

I think I got that page once, clicked on nothing, and it quit popping up. But it's too long ago to remember if I really did do that.
