Is it a bad idea to do a deck railing in Cor-Ten?

We like the look (and the price point compared to stainless steel) but are worried about staining clothes and hands. I know there tends to be staining run-off on the area below CorTen - not so much worried about that as how it might stain you when you touch it. And how it feels for that matter. Is it gritty and unpleasant feeling? This is a large second story deck railing and people will presumably be leaning up against it, resting their arm on the top etc etc. Will it leave rust stains on clothes? Will my kids' hands be streaked with orange that will then of course be imprinted all over the rest of the house? We are not doing a wood topper because of the curve of the deck line so there will be hand-contact with the metal. We had considered regular steel with a patina but we didn't like the maintenance involved and having to re-seal every few years (the deck will get a lot of snow through the winter). Any help is appreciated!
