Roarah....I seriously considered medicine cabinets. We are using the Robern in the master and I'm excited as I have never had a medicine cabinet before. I hope I don't regret this decision. Hadn't even thought about the mess inside. Mostly dh's tbh. my boys are barely shaving and one is a terrible slob and I'm afraid it would be bad so ruled out the medicine cabinets for them. I think you are right. I like the oval better but the rectangle may be more appropriate than the oval. Thanks for the feedback.

Here is your dilemma. if you take down those fixtures there will be two holes in the mirror, that being said, they will be up high and most likely off center. So, to get new lighting that is not stuck in the corners, and covers the holes behind it, might be next to impossible unless you run a thick bar that covers the space. But some times back in the day they only drug wire over and did not put in actual junction boxes, so the bringing it to code might be another issue. 1. take one of the lights down and see what is going on 2. probably have to replace the mirror and move the electrical location.

I would do one large mirror with the two lights for the larger vanity. And one mirror with a single light over the smaller.
