Update on addition to Midcentury home
Comments (22)It's 2 vanities I don't understand why so many people are having a difficult time understanding why she wants 2 vanities and 2 sinks in the master bathroom. It has become the norm to have 2. One for each person, she may share with someone. I have never however see an additional sink in the wc. All of my bathrooms have a separate wc but never had a sink in there, that would be redundant to me but if you feel that it's something you want then by all means go for it. A tiny sink can be cute when you have room for it. I would only do it if I could find a cute unique one. I have bidet seats and if I had the room might go with a separate bidet. I hate using restrooms that don't now. What ever you decide it is going to be awesome....See Morewhat to do with rough cedar walls
Comments (7)I think if it were my house I would do really large wall stencils, maybe after whitewashing first, but maybe not (I wouldn’t choose this color scheme, but something this oversized and folky in terms of a pattern I think I might then stencil the floors in the same or a harmonious pattern as the walls, maybe in the same color, maybe in contrasting color, but I’d also use huge area rugs with lots of texture. the reason I’d go for stenciling on the walls is how many knots you’ve got there. Stenciling will play well with the knots....See Moreneed help with exterior design of mid-century home!
Comments (16)it's a really cool door! a little too "flower power" for such a sleek modern exterior, but painting it will make it look better and be a nice holdover until you could afford a new door. (and keep the old one, I really do love it. maybe it could be repurposed somewhere else.) I'd suggest a new handle set too. updated but not too modern (anything too hard edged might look odd with that flowery design). such as this one from kwikset? I think it comes with a keypad version too if that's what you want. you can always relocated it to the new door when if that gets replaced....See MoreUPDATE: Tile selection for midcentury courtyard patio
Comments (33)Thank you for those wonderful suggestions @mnmamax3 ! I decided to stick with the sorbet tiles. They are beautiful and I've used them in the home elsewhere. I'll add a photo of them in my bathroom later. I'll update the thread with the tiled patio when it's done, although it will be awhile before the tile arrives....See Moreapple_pie_order
