Can't comment on the heavenly beds, but I used to have an IKEA mattress. It worked great...for awhile. Eventually where we laid every night developed dips which became uncomfortable.

We have an Ikea mattress, new 5/16. So far so good, and we are flipping it every 6 months. My son pointed out that we cna buy a new Ikea mattress every couple of years for a very long time for what a fancy schmancy brand would cost.

My kid has had an IKEA mattress for about 4 years and it's still very comfortable. She doesn't weigh much though so it's not a good test.

I've had dips form in expensive mattresses (we are normal sized!) so I'd be inclined to pay attention to Sushipup's son's math...but only if IKEA takes away the old one!

I researched and researched different brands before I purchased. The mattress is made of talalay latex…if you read about talalay, you will see why it is important to go with it. You can choose the number for firmness. There is a contact guy…I think his name is Bob, and “yes, there really is a Bob” who can answer any questions.

Mattress comes all squished up..open the wrapping and let it expand for a day.

This is our third year and I have not one complaint. My husband is an old jock, with a very bad shoulder (actually he has no shoulder left) and is in constant pain. He sleeps so much better now.

Unfortunately I have a latex allergy, so can only consider regular spring mattresses.

Biggest problem with any mattress set is the base the mattress sits on. If you can get a platform type bed and eliminate the boxspring you will be better off. Boxsprings are cheaply made and what causes all the sag issues. Lay on a platform and then the same mattress and boxspring on a regular bed frame.

Look into a better bed frame if you to stay with a boxspring. They sell bed frames with adjustable slats. I think IKEA actually used to sell them. If not Amazon has them for low costs.

I would not recommend the Westin Heavenly Bed as they have many undesirable components inside. Most people do not realize the typical mattresses at department/mattress stores are full of toxins known to give headaches, and even worse cancer. I would go with a completely natural or hypoallergenic mattress from Hastens or Vi-Spring. These are pricey but last a lifetime, the comfort levels vary and so do the prices, I believe entry level is approximately $6 to 7,000. If you purchase a new mattress every 7 years (like you are supposed to) you can easily spend this amount of money after replacing your mattress a few times. You are worth it! I use the firmest mattress I have ever felt (a Simmons Beautyrest). It's great. It has only one sleeping side, so no flipping; it's designed for a platform base. This feels like a futon on a floor; it's solid. I'm 6 ft, 170 lbs. The mattress has served me well, with no signs of wear.

I hate soft or medium mattresses. IKEA doesn't make one firm enough for me.

Be aware, that just because a mattress is innerspring doesn't mean that it doesn't have a latex layer of padding.

Sometimes you just need to reinforce the mattress from underneath it to get more life out of your mattress.

Have you considered something like a Saatva? I found them very easy to work with. I have had my mattress for about 6-8 months I think and so far we like it. I got their flagship firm level, which 80% of people prefer (per them). They also have a slightly softer and a firmer model. I sometimes wish I had gone with the softer, but I tend to like soft beds, even though I really need firmer more for my neck/back.

I did look at them, ordering a mattress online without laying on it scares me a little.

I used to feel that way, but then I realized laying on a bunch of different mattresses at the store for 10 minutes at a time didn't really give me a good feel of what it was going to be like for 8 hours in my home. And the return policy on the ones you buy online is wonderful.

Ikea are good budget mattresses, just my opinion

Buying a new mattress is expensive so make sure you check the warranty and get the mattress that is right for you.
