Hi sherwhy, Sorry it took me some time to come back to the thread. Yes this Antique Ivory is white washed finished with oil. In this collection, there are 2 other floorings with white wash on a dark floor base, called Antique Ebany and Costa. I am sure that is kind you described. Hi Steph2000, We do not recommend any wood flooring installed in any full bath as a business, engineered or solid. But that particular picture is from a DIY Network show "Bath Crashers" which used us as their flooring supplier. In that case, as long as the show designer specs the product, we supply. We have another engineered wood flooring being used in another show called "BATHtastic" Both floors were done in Minneapolis Stpaul area for couple years now. So far so good. In my opinion, kicthen and entry will be perfectly fine to put in wood floorings. Area rugs will help. Good comments from both you. Hope to hear from you again.

Thanks folks... greenthumbfish, I think you hit the nail on the head with this, "In every inspiration image, there is a comfy cozy quality..." That's exactly what she's articulated that she wants. Something more cozy and casual, AND that doesn't rely on bare dresser tops and open space to work. Her room now (and I will add that SHE picked out all the details. I was pretty skeptical of the wall art and bedspread when she chose them, though they worked in the end) anyway, her room now is never as neat as in that photo, and the piles and collections just look plain old messy in that room. I'm hoping (!) that in a more casual, cozy room, it won't be as bad. anele, our living room and dining room furniture is high-end designer teak from Denmark in the 40's/50's (Hans Wegner, etc) and I love that look, personally. The really good stuff has curves and a handmade quality that actually IS rather friendly and cozy... and "natural" in a way that Ikea (or even the later 70's teak) isn't. But- I understand my daughter's feelings. I grew up in a house with a fair amount of "modern" (my dad is an architect who went to college in the mid 60's) and at 13 I, too, wanted a more feminine and cozy room. I have a feeling it is partly to do with, at this age, starting to define yourself as a woman, and wanting things more feminine, and also wanting to define yourself as different from your parents. I stayed interested in vintage-y antique-y furniture till I was in my mid-late 20's and then found myself drawn back to the style I'd grown up with. Funny...

kimihh- I love having the trash under the sink. The sink cabinet we had before was huge and we had a trash can under there for the 6 months or so after we moved in before we started remodeling so I knew it would work for us. It's rarely an issue if someone else needs to get into the trash while I'm at the sink since the sink is so wide. I just stand over a little to the right and the pull-out can easily be used. Sheila F - it's not huge, probably 5'6" x 11' Russ- that was the original range we bought, a nice gas freestanding GE. I kept pining for a slide-in, though, and as luck would have it we stumbled on the Samsung on clearance at Best Buy for $949, about $100 more than we paid for the GE. I sold the GE on CL to a very happy woman. That was back in April when I took those dining room pictures. We are still on the road for another week but I had some time to post so I just used the ones I had!
