Comments (5)First is crassula cv. gollum some calls it cv. hobbit but I think hobbit is different... but as most the web pictures are wrong labeled because it seems any lord of the rings character name do well... it's hard to tell Second one you may find it as crassula portulacea or crassula ovata. I would say portulaceae Third (veeeeery beautiful) and fifth might be some sort of sedum or sedeveria (hybrids between sedum and echeveria) it would be really hard to get a correct id... Fourth is an haworthia, even harder to tell an exact species... take a look at www.haworthia.com Paul....See MoreHelp with Cacti and Succulent IDs
Comments (4)Comercial cactus and succulent soil is WAY to rich. Many here recommend to cut it so it is 50 percent of the final mix and to cut it with fast draining material or combinations of fast draining mis: decomposed granite, perlite , pumice, pea gravel, expanded shale, chicken grit, crushed granite, scoria, turface (sp?) Most C&S soil is peat based. Many here do not like the peat because turns into a brick once dry and is very hard to accept water ( hydrophobic). You will see a lot of conversation about the different soils for different plants on here....See MoreNew cacti like succulent - please help id
Comments (8)You guys are awesome! Thanks! She said that if she got more, she would save them for me. For $4, it appears that I got a bargain for such a full plant. So I researched after you ID'd the plant and it seems that it should do well in my regular gritty mix. Obviously it needs a bigger pot. It appears to me that there are several plants in this pot. Since I read that it has tuberous roots, can I gently cut the roots and repot smaller clumps? Thanks again, Rhonda...See MoreHelp me ID cacti/succulents
Comments (5)1&2. Sempervivums 3. I'm guessing Easter cactus. It's one of those holiday cactus'. The only thing throwing me off is the segments look longer then what I've seen. I don't have any Easter, thanksgiving, and Christmas cacti so I'm not totally sure. I can definitely tell I you it's an Epiphytic cactus. That's no help tho;). 4. Mammillaria. Looks like this one could use more light:)...See MoreMartha-South Africa
