Hey group...I just received a shipment of 5 cuttings from Ted...and they are properly ID'd. I'm not so sure I totally believe this man would deliberately mislabel plants. I'm not so sure I can believe the original "story" of someone who ordered 12 different cuttings and received 12 H. australis 'tenuipes'. I think that even a novice, like myself, would easily recognize that they'd be duped and demand restitution immediately. Secondly, all of us know what the plants look like when we order them....so, if we receive something that's different there should be a "red flag". I would order from him again without any hesitation. Plus, he's very kind and humorous, and the cuttings were very generous. Just my humble opinion. Fondly, Patrick

Funny...some of us are bringing everything back inside for the winter, & those in the southern side of the world are getting ready for their spring/summertime. I guess that is why some of our hoyas bloom in the fall.

No tips yet:( Yea, this little hoya i put outside, that i swear looked totally dead, and is an expensive and hard to get large flowering variety, one of the 'Archboldandia', types, was not growing at all for over 6 months. So like I said, I put it outside, here in Ft.Laud, and it is SO hot and humid, these large flowering ones really love that, but I put it out because i was sure it was dead, and I went to finally throw the plant away, and there were 3 new vines growing on it !!!! I am still in shock! It is growing so great now, it is almost at the point where I can tie the vines to the trellis that is in the pot. So...down the road, I could get blooms if it grows this fast all summer/fall, maybe next year. I have great luck with the large flowering ones. It is buying them that is so hard, they cost so much! But growing them here in south Fla. is so easy, since it is like their natural habitat. And that little plant, that I thought was dead, cost me over $30,in a 3in pot! So...I didnt loose my money on this one. Are you are hoya lover? Got any question I might be able to help you with? This is the hoya that turned out to be alive...if it ever blooms, it will look like this one.

I ordered one off eBay from seller "Yellowgreen2u" last year. All the plants I get from this seller have been vigorous growers and early bloomers. I really do think it's the woody mix they use. Also ordered a FuscoMarginata from them that is thriving. Mine also has bloomed for the first time this spring, with one other peduncle producing buds atm. I keep mine wet all the time, letting it dry SLIGHTLY in between watering. I let it dry completely once and the whole plant went limp and I thought I killed it. But a good shower and foliar feed later it perked right back up. The blooms on mine are slightly darker than yours, unless you used flash when taking the photo. A cool pic of Lacunosa, Mindorensis ssp. Superba, and D.Cummingii:Hope some of that helped you a bit. I have no problems with root rot having kept it wet most of the time. Mine is also quite bound, but it's not fussing so neither am I! :^)
