Thanksgiving Buffet & Table Decor
Comments (9)Thanks, Holiday-ers! Gosh,. Tksgvg is just 2 wks from today! Can't believe how fast Fall is leaving me behind! LOL! I am fortunate that all our family plans on coming home (weather permitting). PM...that stacked cups & 3 sizes of plates is really, really elegant-looking...love it w/those added faux flowers...this would be a fun project w/mixed pretty old dishes picked up at garage sales or something! TFS! milo, jane & janet...glad you love that squirrel...I'm glad I bought it even tho I pd full price...so I will keep using it quite a bit. punk...that leafy plate & leafy bowl that match also has a big cup with it...it was a GS find a few yrs ago & I was hoping I'd come across more of that pattern (a couple yrs ago I didn't have as many dishes! ;-) Stamped on the back w/"Home Trends." Thank you all for your comments! 'appreciated! Jeanne S....See MoreHelp decorating buffet
Comments (7)Thanks Ann. I have no other room to put that in, and I store extra table pad pieces (for self-storing leaves) in the drawer, candlesticks, vases, etc. as well as liquor underneath. I need to put the chandy on a dimmer (3-way) since the builder didn't. Was just wodering if painting would need some lighting. I originally had electrical box put there for 3rd sconce for extra lighting for that end of table, without having chandy full brightness. Other 2 sconces are at head of table. I do have china, I also have crystal footed trifle bowl, also silver Revere bowl I could put there. China and buffet are each 18" deep with doors closed, room is only 13 ft wide x 14ft long. I have 8x10 rug under table, centered under chandy which is 5" offcenter. So from china to edge of rug is 16", it's 24" from the shoe to the rug on the other side of the room. I could move the rug/table 5" closer to the china, put the buffet between the windows, but then I'd only have 11" from each case piece to the edge of the rug, and I'm afraid even if people can get around the sides (my parents are large people and need to pull chairs out at least 24" to get in, edge of rug to edge of table is 29" so they should be able to keep the back legs on the rug and not bang the furniture behind them), it will just *look* too crowded. Plus the chandy would be 5" closer to the china side of the table than the window side. I'll take a pic if I can get DH to move the buffet again (we did try it there once). Here's a pic of painting (yes it's too low but I just hung it on mounting screw on top side of box)...See MoreMay I please see how you decorated your dining room buffet?
Comments (29)I love your little animals susieq! I do think a nice tall vase of flowers on the side would certainly look great in there - don't think you need to keep it low... Here is mine..I'm a plain jane...I hate to unleash the debated white mirror that most people hated LOL...but I kept it. What the heck....See MoreTraditional Dining Table - Need Help integrating to match our decor
Comments (2)My inclination would be to paint it black, not with chalk paint, but a high-gloss finish. Love something like this canvas for your room…bridge cables. $69.00 each…an industrial take on the high back dining chair. Rug has to go anyway, but it isn’t the right size/shape. You need something that is at least 2’ bigger than the table. Probably and 8 x 10. The wall decor, I am glad you are replacing it. I don’t think that mirror is the answer, though....See MoreSeajay Sparkles
