Azaleas & Rhododendrons..Dead & Sparse Branches ~ Leave or Remove !!!

Hi Guys

Just a few general questions about Azaleas & Rhododendrons etc. etc

I have noticed recently whilst walking around Gardens,Parks & other outdoor locations that a number of Azaleas & Rhododendrons seem to have quite a few sparse die back areas or dead branches

They dont necessarily look a pretty sight. The Rhodos look half Alive and half dead

What would the Rhododendron Forum experts suggest on this matter..

Will careful removal of these improve the appearance of the shrubs or will the removal of them do harm to them. Will leaving dead branches on a shrub encourage more harm to it.

Have the Forum any suggestions on keeping these lovely Shrubs nice and full and healthy and avoiding any dieback

Any watering & feedling advice would be hugely appreciated for the few Rhododendrons I have which are mainly in Large Pots

Happy Gardening

Stephen.....
