Mixing Metals (Gold/Brass and Silver) In Adjacent Rooms?

Hi there- I have a living room and dining room that are adjacent and open to each other, separated by 2 steps down and a wood railing (dark wood railing w/ white spindles). In the dining room, we've gone with silver metal (a very prominent light fixture and candleholders). However, in our living room, the fireplace has a small amount of brass between the fireplace itself and the black marble (about 3 in). The mantle is white. There is also some black matte metal in the bookcase and the coffee table. For over the fireplace, I'm thinking matte gold vase and candleholders to match the border on the fireplace - but is it bad to have gold/silver in different rooms that are adjacent? Should I go with white to neutralize? I'm afraid the brass fireplace will look out of place if I don't add something. Should I mix pieces in one or both rooms to bring it all together?

Picture below (please excuse the mess - kitchen remodel in progress).

Please help!!!! Thank you!
