Beginner Growing Trees from seeds

I am just getting into planting and gardening and i was wondering what is a good tree to start with that is easy and i wont have to wait over the winter to do. Could i do a Burch tree right now in late august? If so was advice does anyone have and what are some good steps or tutorials on how to do so

please go to your members page.. and add your location to your name .. so it pops up in every post ... presuming you are planning on coming back ...

without knowing your location ... the question is impossible to answer ...

an easy way to start.. would be to ID some of the local trees ... to find out what thrives in your area .. we could do that with pix of the tree and leaves ...you also have.. if you are in the US .. a COUNTY extension office ,.. and they could probably help you with some local information ...

also .. if you did this.. how would do it .. pots.. in ground.. etc ...

BTW .. it BIRCH .... and if you took that to the WWW ... found the latin name.. then added PROPAGATION to the search .. you could do some basic research into the process .. and then you could come back and ask for more help ... and this is why IDg what you would like to start with .. is important ..

as your question is posited ... you would basically like someone to do a doctoral thesis on such.. from start to finish ... and good luck with that ...

Growing trees from seed myself

Not sure your location...

Yes
you could start with birch but the seed will still need 30-60 days cold
stratification I just collected a bunch of birch seed from my tree this
week

If you could wait until spring and just want to grow a tree,
silver maple is easy and drops its seed in spring so you can plant it
right away Im sure somebody else will chime in with some ideas

For the eastern american species: "Seedling Development- Pregermination treatments are not required (3). A large percentage of sound seeds usually germinate, but the great variation in number of sound seeds in a lot results in a wide range of germinative capacity. Germination is epigeal and is affected by light. I have been looking at propagation from stem cuttings, and it seems that it is superior to the seed method because you get a genetic clone and it grows into a fruiting tree in four years instead of 10. There appears to be a group of people who use pieces of aloe vera plant to stick the stems into before burying in soil. Apparently, it is a natural root hormone. I definitely am going to try it because I have aloe vera growing in my yard, and I don't want to search for root hormone and shell out money when I have a potentially equivalent product at home. I also already have two grafted avocado trees. They are small, and I had already cut back the Fuerte, but I still haven't pruned the Mexicola Grande. I might use that pruned leader as a test. The Mexicola Grande would probably make the best root stock for grafting, anyway.

buckeyes are SUPER easy to grow from seed - they just need cold stratification. Only thing I would be careful about is the root - it will shoot out an ENORMOUS taproot before it even sprouts out of the ground, so you need to either plant right away or use a very deep container. Do some reading on seed starting, watch some videos, see what works for other people.

Then think about what will work for you. If ya feel super handy go build a cold frame or greenhouse.

Maybe you got an area under your deck you can draft into service with minor modifications?

Will your significant other let you use the fridge for cold storage?

Then match what facilities you have with what plants are likely to do best in them.
