What does my croton petra need?

kt

Hello!

Goal: for my croton petra to grow and look the best that it can be

Plant background:

- I've had this plant for around 2 years now.

- I have repotted it about a week ago. This is my first repot of this plant. Previously it had always been in the same plastic pot I had bought it in.

- It's always sat on a south-facing windowsill in a second floor bedroom.

- I live in Southern California where it can get very hot during the summer so my room temperature can reach up to 86 deg. F if the peak temp of the day is over 100 deg. and I haven't turned on the air conditioning.

As you can see from the pictures it has grown leggy and only has a few leaves that are short and wilting. (It was much more droopy before but it has perked up a bit this week.) It has continually grown a flowering stem from the top but I recently cut it off because there was like a mite sac or something on it. I remember when the plant was much more full-bodied and leaves were growing straight out of the soil! How can I restore it to its former glory and then some?
