Would the mirrors bother you if this was your bathroom?

The mirrors are not centered to the sinks. Does that bother you?

Looks great aesthetically because I love those light fixtures next to mirrors but is it functional?

Our vanity cabinet will look similar to this and I was thinking 1 big mirror would be boring and I want to include some kind of light fixtures and framed mirror in my design.

I'd have considered two narrower mirrors, with each mirror centered over its respective sink. Instead of a single sconce between the two mirrors, have two. Something along the lines of this.

If the goal was to have "more mirror" on the wall, them perhaps three mirrors with three sconces with the sink mirrors centered over their sinks and the third mirror taking up the vacant space in between. All symmetrical. Something along the lines of this.

If the three mirrors can't be the same size due to space, then have to two over the sinks the same with the middle one an oval instead of a rectangle. A la este.

Without a head-on picture, it's impossible to say.

why not center them? If you haven't built it yet you can move the sinks and/or re-size the mirrors to fit.

Thanks Oakleijok and dee dee99. Oak my house was built in 1895. I was almost embarrassed to post my bathroom again because I have shown it on here so many times. There are some gorgeous bathrooms on here. But if I had to choose (which I don't) I would go with the modern room of Sundownr. I normally don't like modern but I love that gorgeous black ceiling. I think it would be a little less functional, but would still work. Who says you need to be directly in front of the sink when you're using the mirror? Most of my mirror time is doing something not directly sink related like makeup or hair. I certainly don't need the mirror to brush my teeth or wash my face or hands. However, one key difference between the "justification picture" and your mockup is that the inspiration mirror edges go all the way to the edges of the sink. So when you're standing directly in front of the sinks, your face isn't cut off by the frame. I think it would work better with minimal or no frame and as large as you can to try to max the width to cover both sinks.

Side note - Natural bar soap works best - no chemicals, no dyes and you would have to not clean your shower for weeks before seeing any build up. As for materials - I say go for whatever is beautiful to you and maintain as that material requires. You can't blanket everything under the category of "natural stone" and get the same answers. Each stone has its own characteristics and maintenance needs. I had an apartment once that had the old glue up glossy plastic walls in the shower. The landlord let me gut the bathroom ( it really needed it ) with his material approval. I managed to get thicker glue up shower walls with a tile-look pattern and molded shelves. Fancy right?? Well those flat glossy glue up panels were so much easier to clean! Live and learn.. If you understand what your stone will need and look like over time and you are ok with what you have to do, then just get it and enjoy!

Some give out more light than others. I have this in my hall bath and it looks awesome and provides nice ambient light (perfect for guests) but it isn't good enough light to shave or put on makeup. Some have the lights facing forward and I expect they would be better for that use.

It would bother me and thus I would prefer one large glass mirror with the sconces drilled into the mirror itself.

Not having them centered would bother me. I'd go with narrower mirrors as MongoCT suggested.

I do love the framed mirrors, though!

The only reason it doesn't bother me too much is because it's still symmetrical and fills the space and the mirrors are quite a bit larger than centered ones would be. Narrow slightly off-center ones would bug me more.

But my preference is almost always wall to wall, backsplash to ceiling mirror with fixtures mounted through the mirror.

hm..we had to do slightly different sized mirrors..because of the window between the sinks plus a tiny mistake in framing..:) the mirrors are still centered to the sinks, yet for that reason we decided not to frame them..them being of slightly different size

I must add I'm more impervious to things being slightly assymetrical..drives my husband crazy though

(too much symmetry in decor drives me crazy

but something "permanent" like this, I gave it consideration

we didn't have any space for sconces though..or rather I didn't want to use the space we did have, for sconces..we put pendants on the ceiling. very silly as I have a feeling they'll be gone with the first "real" earthquake..))

Asymmetry that works in a 20-storey building may not in a simple bathroom.
