Autumn Purple Ash very ill
Comments (3)The first thing I'd investigate is drainage in the area where the tree was planted. Soaked soil plus high temperatures with direct sun can really stress plants, especially new transplants. Ash trees are susceptible to some fungal diseases and borers - more information here....See MoreHelp!! Is my Plumeria ill??
Comments (3)Hi. Check for spider mites. I would remove those yellow leaves and spray with bayer 3 & 1 for insects , mites. You could spray the tree first with the hose. Let dry then apply bayer for mites. Put in the shade away from sun. If it is inside , spray. Away from kids food etc Good luck. Laura...See MoreMy poor jade looks very ill. Help?
Comments (7)Did you happen to treat the plant with some sort of insecticide for the mealies and gnats? Some of those will burn a plant, especially in sun light, and I would presume the lights would be the same. This is an in depth post about various insecticides and their affect on succulents if you are interested: http://forums.gardenweb.com/discussions/3742440/insecticide-pesticide-insights?n=61 The good news is that your new growth will be fine and eventually replace the damaged leaves....See MoreIll Vanda
Comments (3)The pictures are actually deceiving. In personal, the color of its leaves, is really uneven green with yellowish tint mixed up everywhere. I won't be worried if it just from the bottom leaves but in here, the last 8 leaves are affected. I don't think it's normal. The third pic was rot infection that I managed to stop from spreading. I forgot to mention that it has a keiki and 3 leaves from it were lost from brown rot. Then I just cutted the leaf from 4th picture as it spread futher this morning. I think you're right regarding the roots. Roots are still many but this vanda already lost half of its total roots and still counting. The one I worried the most is that the 4 upmost leaves are oddly leathery and squishy whereas it was stiff and firm before. I really don't know how it happened. Maybe it's dehydrated, but I give it a lot of water everyday. The sunlight it receives is partial and not enough to burn it. Is there something else?...See Moredigdirt2
