titanum has become very common so you should be able to find one no problem. I bought 30 seed on ebay earler this year from a seller for an average of $6 per seed and sent them all to my friend in Brasil. Gordon's Gold is a rarer plant originally introduced by Dave Gordon in Southern CA. Look him up and you can likely get one. I got one from him years ago, but is was so unimpressive that I got rid of it or I would be happy to send you one. Good luck :o) Dan

Hi Arum, I keep mine in the basement simply to keep them out of the living room....my wife is not that impressed with them I'm afraid!! My smaller tubers of more exotic species stay upstairs in a corner all winter for the most part so hopefully they will think spring a bit earlier in the season.....not that it works all that well, but at least I can say I tried!! I have found over the past 2-3 years that a few African species are very good about breaking dormancy early and going to bed in Oct.....mossambicensis, abyssinicus and an unknown that I've been growing from seed. If they continue to behave nicely for the next couple of years then I would highly recommend these to other zone 6 Amorphophiles :o) Dan

I dont know what an amorphallus is,but I live in zone 5(I still havent' been able to figure out if I am an A or B) and I have over wintered a canna here-by accident! It was on the south side of my mothers house,between a row of bricks against the house,and the foundation proper. I don't remember planting it there,I don't know how I would have put a rhizome in such a small space. I thought maybe some creeped under the brick from a bunch that I had planted. Anyway two years in a row,they have come up! A canna-surviving not one,but two Chicago winters!!

Yes, under normal circumstances they bloom early, then either bloom late in the season or often not till the next year. Blooming takes a lot of energy and the corm looks a shrunken afterwards. What I am wondering is, what will they do if the immature bloom is cut off preventing them from fully blooming. This weekend I will cut off the immature bloom and report back when I see what it does.
