Need help picking roof color for house with green siding
Comments (16)I was actually thinking of painting the shutters white, too, after I saw a picture of a green house with white shutters and it looked very nice. We also were going to close up the gable vents (the roof will have a ridge vent so we shouldn't need the gable vents, and bats like to hang from them and make a mess on the siding). I was thinking I could do some kind of accent siding in place of the gables, in some sort of color or even a stained wood type color (if the shutters were white)....See MoreRepainting and siding the house, opinions needed on colors
Comments (1)pretty house! Cedar shingles naturally age to a soft silver-gray, which would be very nice with the brick. Cedar & brick always seem to me to be a casual, warm, & inviting combination, not formal or fussy, & colors that "go with" rather than contrast are good for that mood. so you might paint the shutters (while you're on that ladder anyway, what the heck?) to pick up the dark color in the brick, or use charcoal gray/almost black as a darker version of the cedar; it would anchor & unify the upper & lower stories. Have fun!...See MoreNeed Opinion on Modern House Color
Comments (3)Your house id nothing like any of the pics you posted. IMO the first thing is to get new windows without grids to modernize the house , remove all the growth from in front to be able to see the house.Right now I have no idea....See MorePaint color opinions needed for log home!
Comments (7)Personally, I think I would leave it. It’s tan... a warm tone that works with the wood, and any other color you paint it may not work as well; also, don’t want to stack up layers of paint. The color that’s there actually sort of matches your table and chairs. I love the light fixture, btw. It is what it is. I don’t know why the people did that, but thank goodness that is all they did. TBH, I really don’t think that is a big deal. You would not believe the destruction of classic architecture that I see on this site, on a regular basis. Recently, someone actually posted a dilemma asking for white paint options and whitewashing suggestions for a classic log cabin they were considering purchasing - because they wanted to ‘’modernize’’ it. Just count yourself fortunate that this is all these people did, and enjoy the quirkiness of it. In fact, if you wanted to have fun with it, you could have some upholstered/fabric wall panels made - in a beautiful complementary fabric - would be like a wallpaper for your dining room. You could put the panels on one of the other walls, maybe the wall adjacent to table - the window wall....See Morempk1970
