Repotting size question

User

Ok I reconsidered and figured I'd ask.. I know that the pot size should be 1/3 of the diameter of the av. But let's say you prune it so now it's 4 times smaller then it was.. Do you pot down? Leave it in the same size it came in?

A lot of my noids came in 4inch pots and have pruned and repotted them in a cup that's slightly smaller (they remind me of fruit punch cups they have at a party don't ask me why I think this lol). Most have bounced back.. I have a few that seem like they aren't growing as much.. And I want to say I have read where potting down can restart some growth? Something is nagging at me to repot them in something smaller...
