The Popsicles look yummy and I would love to try them, even if I would end up eating them with a spoon. :-) I wonder if the alcohol content (7.5%) might be the reason they didn't freeze solid? You know...kinda like anti-freeze?

I agree with the antifreeze comment, that might have been the not-freezing problem.

From a taste standpoint, you might have done better making fresh sangria. BF stuff isn't very palatable. If everyone had fun, that's what matters.

Boone's Farm is enjoyable for those that remember all the different flavors over the years. One flavor mentioned today was Strawberry HIll.

I have had fresh sangria, but today's popsicles served the purpose of celebrating a friend's 89th birthday and most of all had fun. No complaints :o)

Water aerobics group, Friday, has plans to recognize friend, at the pool. She's our oldest member. We do have many in their 80's and I'm pushing 80. Just none 89 or older.

Sorry, I wasn't clear, I was thinking about better flavor if making popsicles from fresh sangria. Though depending on the alcohol percentage, you may have had the same non-freezing problem.

I have a recipe for whiskey slush. I can't stand whiskey, but I like it this way. You can't taste it! haha. The whole point of it is, it doesn't freeze, just turns to slush. Then you serve it with 7up (or whatever your preference) poured over it.

I would prefer the slush anyway! Easier to eat. I'll bet it was good.

I'll come over and gladly take any leftovers! Your food always looks delish!

Sounds like a fun afternoon refreshment! I remember Strawberry Hill kind of fondly, I wasn't really of a legal drinking age but there was one store in Oklahoma that would sell it to me anyway.

I am not sure what is behind the disruptive comments that seem to plague so many threads, but I think we'd all be better served to ignore them rather than be goaded into a discussion that detracts from the OPs thread intent. Seems like every thread anymore turns into a ridiculous discussion where every comment is picked apart. Of course, everyone has the right to do as they please and say what they wish. I just get tired of the constant attempts to correct everyone :-(

What fun! I remember making whiskey sour slush with pink lemonade. We were camping out and it was the hit of the night lol.

pk, I get the disruption comment and assure you that wasn't my intent. I was a bit shocked and you and several others seem to share my sentiment (about it being a cheap buzz for underage drinkers and others) but more succinctly. I didn't think anyone drank products like that (or similar products like Thunderbird or Ripple) otherwise. That was the thought I had and I tried to express it obliquely.

Friend's husband dropped by little while ago and had his sangria popsicle. He doesn't play Train, on Thursday's, He had his today.

We were talking about Boone's Farm and enjoyed the different flavors they used to have.

Treat friend brought me were homemade tamales. Love tamales!

His wife has chemo, each Friday, and I'm close to the hospital, so he stops by some times rather then drive back home until time to pick her up.

Any one remember Andre Cold Duck champagne ? was next to Boone,s farm . A client once gave me a bottle of wine, next time she come in she asked how I liked the wine. I said great I made sangria with it, her eyes got very wide, dawned on me was a very expensive bottle of wine.

nyboy, ooops! One of our favorite casual dining places serves a Southern Comfort and Coke slushie. Not something that I'd ever order, but tastes really good as a slushie! One is enough, they are strong and too sweet!

Thinking about the Boone's Farm array, does anyone remember Annie Green Springs? Lancers? Mateus? Admitting to my late 60s-early 70s college days!

Bringing back memories. My best high school friend always went with Blue Nun if she could get it because it made her feel grown-up and sophisticated. As young adults we mixed Boones Farm or Annie Green Springs with seltzer and ice to make wine coolers for poolside get togethers.

We never thought to freeze any of our concoctions though. I guess we weren't quite as sophisticated as we thought we were!
