Should this jade plant be repotted/pruned ?
Comments (24)Not to steal a thread and I already know the correct answer, but does anyone think my jade needs a haircut? Well do you? I've had this jade for over 25 years. Every couple of years I whack it back just a little. It was in the same clay pot for over 20 of those years and about 2 years ago, it got so heavy I couldn't move it back outside; it summer's outdoors. So I used my hammer and cracked the old 12" pot and put in a 14" plastic one. Seems pretty happy in plastic and it's a whole lot lighter. This year I think we are going to go for a MAJOR haircut!...See MoreWhen should I repot my lithops?
Comments (0)Hi guys, I bought my lithops almost a couple of months ago and I have become so obsessed with them!!They came in plastic pots which are very small. I have been reading that they need sufficient depth for their roots so I have been thinking about repotting them. However, both of them have 2 new sets of leaves emerging at the moment.. should i wait until the new sets of leaves are completely established before I repot them? Thank you in advance :)...See MoreWhen should I fertilize newly re-potted tomato plant?
Comments (11)In my climate, it is difficult to grow decent tomatoes in anything other than a container!! Ground soil stays cool too late in the season and also the portability of containers allows them to be moved and sited to maximize sunlight and reflected heat. And even that limits the varieties that do well to those with a very short (early) harvest season! And to echo dan's comments, since 99% of all potting soils contain minimal plant nutrients, fertilizing weakly should happen immediately and frequently....See MoreWhen to repot a young jade plant
Comments (23)We water our succulents regularly. though they are probably the most drought-tolerant plants on the planet, we don't hold back watering. Over time, nutrients within soil tend to deplete (nutrients wash away with the water), so the soil becomes weaker and weaker. Changin soil, or reporting the plant is a good practice to keep the plant fresh, and rich with nutrients. If you are not sure about the soil or pot, just repot it. Don't get confused. You can see evidence of my comment on the fertilization and soil section of this article. My jade is healthy because I follow the practice mentioned in the article (given in the link). I change soil once a while. Source: https://crassulacare.com/...See MoreCasualSweater
