Does anyone know how Jean is doing? Haven' seen a post this whole season...or have I missed it? Just hoping all is well with her. Bloominghaus

I have been wondering too, there was a previous post where we were all wondering, then I know I saw a single post from her. Someone asked how she was doing & why she hadn't posted, but I don't think she made a reply to it. I didn't see any more, but haven't been on as much this year.

I too have been wondering and no she didn't answer the question that I saw, Nancy. I've also wondered about Ed and Edward, neither have been posting.

caren I live in the PNW,the land of Moles and Slugs. Several years ago I found a product called Uncle Ian's Mole and Gopher Repellant which is primarily a concoction of dried blood and Hot pepper. I have not had a Mole problem in 5 years. Occasionally,early in the spring I will see a Mole mound. When I see the 1st mound I will wait for the 2nd eruption then dig down to the tunnel and put 1 TBS of the repellant into the tunnel. Problem solved. I forgot to say that the repellant can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowes,in a large container which will last for years,for about 14 dollars. Jim

I'm Ania from Southern CA. I live with my boyfriend and 2 of our own little terrier dogs (also known as terrors) and a third foster terrier. We just purchased a house a year ago so this is my second year gardening. Until we bought the house, I was one of those people that would kill every plant that was in my care. I'm trying to change that and I have several houseplants that have lived a year for me now. For me, that's good. I did some landscaping on the property last year and well, let's just say I did it again this year with plants that would actually work for the area. They are working so far. I grew a few things in pots last year with limited success. I started really late a got a just a few tomatos from 3 plants that got attacked by hornworms, some Jalapeno's and Cubanelles and some Okra. My herbs did well and I had a lot of basil and still have pineapple sage and mint from last year. I tried, unsuccessfully to grow eggplant as well. This year, I decided to actually learn how to garden and here I am. This year I'm growing 8 varieties of tomatoes, several varieties of peppers, a couple of eggplants, tomatillos, several squash and zucchini, green onions, lima beans, and a few other things all in containers. I am also just now sprouting chard and amaranth. I also have a lot of herbs growing. I made some big mistakes to start with and got a late start on some things but all is going fairly well. I can be logged in and if I go to update my member page it always ask me to login again. I do not know how anyone else updates their wishlist but I always go to any forum and scroll to the bottom where it says member services page. Then it ask me to login and I see a bunch of links. I hit the one I want then when I am done I hit save then it takes me to another page of links to where I can either view my list or I can return to the forum. This post got me curious so I figured hey I need to update my list anyway so I just tried it and it seemed to work for me. I am with karen if you are still having problems then maybe contacting an admin may be your best route.

Still no word on Jean? I know she had computer issues a while back, but more troubling is that she's had health issues.

I also noticed that Chris [Maximus] has not posted; in Aug/Sept 2014 he led us in a series of posts where we were to post our favorite 3 of the color he listed. I really enjoyed that.

Chris is a "she." Chris liquidated most of her daylily collection when she moved to a new dwelling with just a roof-top garden. She was excited about embarking on a new antique business.

Chris was kind enough to send me Catastrophe waitress when she was getting set to move, Brad. Jean has not responded to her email either. I wonder if she has had to move in with her daughter or if anything else is going on.

I had wondered about Chris too, she sent me a plant years ago I still have. Hope she is doing well with her new business. I'm really concerned about Jean, seems like she would still have access to a computer & would get in touch if she could, doesn't it? I really hope she is ok, I miss her posts, she loves her daylilies so much.

I miss Jean too! Things are not the same without her here. I hope she is okay. I love that on this forum we are all like 'family' and care about each other. Gardeners are the best people.

Jean responded to three posts I saw this past season: one of Kay's very early in the season, one of mine, and one other. I wondered when she didn't answer questions we asked if she wasn't sick and it wasn't her daughter writing the comments for her. She had been living with her daughter for a couple of years.
