Anyone watching the great british baking show?

I really like this show. I like this seasons contestants, they all seem like nice people. I prefer the style of this show to all the other food contest shows I have seen, no fake drama. It is enough drama to see a contestant drop something or as they rush to finish the last details. Holy crap the final show stopper 49 items wow. No matter who won this year Im happy these three were the finalist. Hope the show stays this enjoyable when the new season starts, I would be so disappointed if the new people change the show

It was really annoying how Candice would purse her lips, esp. with the lipstick applied as it was; but I finally figured out why she did. In later episodes she didn't always make-up like that and I see she had two upper, side teeth that she attempted to hide. : ) Do you remember the actress who played Anne Bolene(sp?) in "The Tudors"? Candice resembled her a lot esp. with the lipstick.

I binge watched a ton of these shows. I don't know what season is being shown in the US, I get mine off the internet and stick with the UK schedule- love the show. Will really miss everyone except for Paul- who of course is the one staying :-(

Believe it or not, I missed the last 5 minutes due to a dog with an upset tummy. Had to find out the winner by googling.

It would be a shame if the style of the show were changed.

So you're saying Nadiya won? Oh well, the spoiler is ok because I had a hunch she was going to be the winner. Edited to say that I went online to see exactly what episode we got to see last night. It was the chocolate challenge and it had a date of airing as August 5th? I'm confused. Where are you guys from that have already watched the finale? Are you from across the pond? ha

Really sad to hear this news. The U.S. version was a joke and most of the contestants only knew the basics with a couple of them even lacking in that. The contestants in the British version seem to live and breath their passion for baking. Their flavor profiles are quite extraordinary. Always very supportive and encouraging to one another. Sue, Mel, Mary and Paul are just as much the show as the contestants. Great chemistry. It will not be the same. I will miss staring at Paul's gorgeous blue eyes :)

I enjoy the huge variety of items. On American shows, everything tends to be a sweet, using assigned ingredients. (Bake a pie with one of these fruits, followed by a mad dash by contestants to grab one.) But on GBBO, it's "bake an American-style pie", and the contestants chose their own ingredients and flavors. And the US/Brit differences! I loved the donut episode, with history of the donut trucks. A simple common jelly donut was exotic! And the "tea biscuits" sure looked like Mallomars to me.

It's one of the very very few shows I watch with no open book or computer on my lap. That's high praise!

I love this show! I watched the semi-finals last night, and plan to watch the finals tonight. I like all of the finalists, so it doesn't matter who wins. I hope this won't be the final year for it. There are a couple of other cooking shows that I have started watching, and enjoy. The shows with the kids are fun!

Love that show, too. Sorry that last night was the final for the season. Will miss it. I also hope it renews.

I love the show and I'm amazed at what they do. I'm a good cook but I don't bake any sweets and never will after watching them lol.

I watch it. I always like to see the differences in between U.S. baking and British baking. I remember one show where Paul called the combo of peanut butter and grape a unusual combination but it strangely works...and i think of all those pb&j sandwiches and the peanut butter thumbprint cookies from my childhood where peanut butter and grape was the standard.
