Need ideas for decorating bathroom
Comments (2)I love that shower curtain! Blue and brown is a very hot color combination right now, so you shouldn't have trouble finding accessories. My son's room is blue and brown, and we got some things at Target and others at Kohls. I think a light blue wall color would look great with it. If you're going to put new fixtures in there too, the oil-rubbed bronze finish would look really pretty. As for whether it would be too different from the rest of the house, I guess it depends on where it is. In my last house, I had a blue bathroom even though the house was mostly decorated with red, green and gold. It was sort of down a hall, so it didn't matter. I'm no expert, so I hope you get some other responses, too. I really like it though!...See MoreNew bathroom decor ideas
Comments (19)I've been thinking about it, too. Try finding towels and a curtain in the same or similar tone that you painted the walls. I think a monochromatic look is more soothing and spa-like. You already have white toilet, sink, and tub. You can add more white with a faux floral arrangement of white flowers. I like your idea for floating shelves where towel bar is (you could put extra towels on it, too). Then a piece of art with white matting and a dark chocolate brown frame. PS - just looked at your pictures again and I think the towels and decor you already have are fine - at least in the pictures, they appear to match the walls. All you need is a lighter shower curtain in same tone as walls and towels, and a more impactful piece of art, slightly larger. And try white buds/flowers idea. I still like your idea of shelves over the toilet....See MoreSmall Bathroom Decorating Ideas?
Comments (19)I like canvas art because I wipe water off easily. Here's a possible scale for yours, with mirror larger than art. Art shouldn't probably be wider than the toilet. Idk if this houzz excerpt helps: "Having lighter colors at the eyeline will help a bathroom feel clean and airy, but try balancing them with a deep color lower to the ground. This adds a sense of richness that helps keep the space from feeling too stark, without making it overwhelmingly dark. Plus, it beautifully sets off classic white fixtures."...See MoreDecorating ideas for bathroom
Comments (6)You can keep the dark wall, BUT you have to put a large modern stencil on it using the color from the other walls! I assume you did this because you wanted some punch in the room, that will give you something to look at. Options: Floral (I see you have an orchid, you could do something with orchid flowers.., Peony, Rose, Magnolia, Gardenia, Poppies, Daisies, etc..), Geometric (anything you like), Earthy (Ferns, Stand of Pines or Deciduous Trees, a solitary Oak Tree w/ acorns, etc.) whatever, but make it a large print, not a dainty old-timey one, and it has to match the theme or feel of the rest of the house! I agree, finish your electrical finishes too. I suppose if you want to go cheap and easy and builder grade you will just put a large cheap picture on that wall... but you don't need a designer to tell you to do that!...See Moreczarinalex
