Some random pics from the garden
Comments (4)Beautiful! It's a "blood lily", Scadoxus multiflorus, and a very pretty one at that. Can you share what conditions (light/watering) you give it through the year to keep it happy and blooming for you? Thanks for sharing it with us, it's very pretty! Happy gardening!...See MoreSome random pics
Comments (20)I've seen a lot of Hoh. correia-araujoi, and the floppy leaves are just its natural growth habit. The pups start out upright like Japie's, but as they mature they eventually develop that flop, whether they're in sun or shade. They do look better in brighter light, but you're right not to want to make a sudden move into the baking sun now, Rick. On the other hand, I'm not sure that binding it up is really good for the plant either. It seems like it would choke the new growth and keep the new leaves from hardening off properly. In the end, that might actually make it worse. Best to just learn to love it as it is. ;-)...See Morerandom garden pics
Comments (10)Steg, thanks for the maple ID. That makes sense, there is a large silver maple not too far from this one. The 'Mile Up 92' scionwood is from a Jerry Morris selection. Here's the mother plant, approx. 25 yrs of age. This is the 'Crescent Mountain' broom, an mountain doug fir. I expect the new growth will be about 3 inches, but will have a better idea later this year....See MoreI'm in love with my garden path (plus random bloom pics)
Comments (23)Gorgeous!! I laughed when you spoke of wandering around the garden in the morning! Thankfully, I have succeeded in making my yard as private as possible. Surely, no one should see me wandering in my morning finest!! It's such a great feeling though, isn't it? A nice cup of coffee and a stroll through your own beautiful yard, borne of hard work and love!! Enjoy many more garden moments this season!!...See More- 6 years ago
