It is a slower paced and more relaxed way of life, that takes some getting used to but is really good I think. A lot of things are less expensive. Sometimes Mexico now reminds me a little of the US in the 1950's when I was growing up. The culture seems a little more earthy and less intellectual. The people have a great sense of humor but it tends more toward knee slappers than puns. And music! This is a place where people still sing and dance all the time. And many of them sing very well, everything from, old fashioed crooners, to opera, to rock and roll. Even the smallest restaurants have live music....See MoreEver travel to see broms in habitat?
Comments (10)Hi probably the best place to go is Costa Rica. Easy and cheap to get there ,ground travel is cheap reliable, safe and clean.. You can make it as easy or as difficult as you like since 90 percent of the parks are accesible by bus or private car if you're into mountain driving lol 12 different climate zones in an area the size of West Virginia from permanent frost to permanent tropics in the same day!! Both oceans are visitable on the same day also. Would love to visit S. America particularly Colombia but the political situation in most of S. America is terrible lol Check with the state dept. when planning a trip. A good idea no matter where you're going. Stephania A trip to Madagascar now that would be FANTASTIC!! But certainly not easy o cheap from my neck of the woods lol Love the pix. Can we see some more??? gary...See MoreTravel, travel, travel___keep those wheels spinning.
Comments (3)Good to hear from you. So sorry to hear about Shannon's health issues. There's a really nice rv resort in Spring, TX. We liked the one in Galveston but really love the rv park on the beach at Bolivar Peninsula. We were supposed to be sitting out there in June but since the house went under water we are living in the rv which is in the driveway instead. Tell Mike we said hi....See MoreEver travel with Road Scholar?
Comments (20)Chloe, that sounds wonderful and how handy to have a British husband. We had to keep saying "right turn, go wide!" so we didn't end up heading into oncoming traffic. We did go the wrong way in a roundabout one time. That was exciting. In Edinburgh we caught the show "Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time". We also spent a few days on the Isle of Raasay, which is off the coast of Skye. We got there by ferry. There is not much in the way of public transportation there beyond ferries and the postman! Our route was Edinburgh, St Andrews (wonderful), Inverness (might skip this, but the people were interesting), Raasay, Oban, Stirling and back to Edinburgh. I would be more willing to go on trips on our own, but my friends want tours and I have enjoyed myself going that way, too....See Morehounds_x_two
