Thank you so much for the information. I enjoyed the browse! Earlier in the day, after work, I went out and bought a quart of Dunn-Edwards Navajo White, which has a green tinge. Now I think I'm warming up to stepping it up a notch after seeing those pictures. Part of my problem is I have the pretty blues and greens in my nearby living room that would look so pretty with some of the yellow/olive like hues of green. But beyond my kitchen (and visible) is a step down area and den that are a green grey, which unfortunately doesn't look great with the maple, otherwise I'd just carry it on up. I wish the yellow that was on the wall worked, but I don't think it looks good with my silestone. I do like how it looks with the maple though. Here is a picture. I'm hoping a darker green might do the trick to work with both areas. I have spent so much $$ on paint samples that it is embarrasing! :-) Here is a link that might be useful:

I'd be tempted to try painting the walls man cave first. I think it could look stunning with your cabinets and go a long way toward making your kitchen look sleek. If you have the $$ for it, I'd consider changing out your countertops to something less yellow. If you find a laminate you like in stock at a big box store you can change out the counter yourself for just a couple hundred dollars - and it's easier than painting the cabinets. While you have the countertop off, maybe put up a new backsplash behind the sink - something high contrast with both lights and darks in it. And ... voila! New kitchen!

i was never into gray until i saw mystery's kitchen. i love them now and for you...that color would really sing with the bordeaux and gray in the stone. wood looks lovely next a rich gray as well. i have a ralph lauren wheel here....i love polaris gray...soft and towards an old silver in tone...but (ugly name) sweatshirt gray is also gorgeous. grey stone and neutral graY work as well/ i'd grab a few samples and see how they woek in the space. i think they would be very elegant myself

Go for the ivory color in the granite. Bring home swatches and find one that matches well. For the backsplash, just remove all of the tile over the granite bs, clean up and paint the wall above it.
