Any difference in Trophytaker daylilies?

I bought two DL 3 years ago in a garden center. They were potted and each had a brand label on them marked "Trophytaker" and the name of the cultivar: Moses' Fire (Joiner), and Winner's Portrait (Apps). Trophytaker is a brand name listed on Centerton Nursery (they also list Happy Ever Appster as one of their brands.) These two DL are now huge clumps with amazing bud & scape counts. I know that both of these cultivars are registered but wondered about the Trophytaker trademark being included. Is performance altered/enhanced by Trophytaker? I have attached photos of Winner's Portrait. It has 14 scapes with 20-26 buds on each.

I have a number of Trophy Taker Daylilies and am pleased with them. What it means is that Apps and associates took a number of daylilies that they felt do exceptionally well in most ways and circumstances. I think generally you will have great plants when you buy them.

However, I still need to find the right balance of sun/shade for them as I do other daylilies. Some need a full day of sun, some do better with some shade or they do a bit of fading. All of my TTakers do very well except Daveo Holeman. I have moved it around to different beds and while I get huge flowers, there are not many flowers & they are on tiny scapes deep down in the foliage. It doesn't increase much either. It could be my climate that it doesn't like or Apps made a mistake or ?

Also, Royal Occasion is beautiful, but it needs some shade. However, with some shade it blooms less.

Carman Renee is a bloom machine, Strawberry Candy, Strutter's Ball, Tuscawilla Tigress, Pastures of Pleasure & Priscilla's Rainbow bloom well as does Indian Giver which is very popular. Siloam Amazing Grace is my favorite yellow-heavy substance petal so weather doesn't bother it. Perennials.com has more TT than listed at Centerton.

Marian and Kristy, I didn't mail your daylilies on Sat, since it was so busy here at the resort and then I had to get on the boat by 1pm.....to go and spend a great weekend with my garden friend I met online (she is a part of this community here)..... we found some very very nice nurseries today, and of course, even though we both don't have space for any more plants.... we bought quite a few of them! How can you resist passion flowers for $5.95? In bloom! Anyway, I just wanted to let you both know, I will mail your daylilies on Tuesday (actually, ask my husband to do it for me, since I won't be back on the island untill the last boat).... You have great taste in daylilies but some of these may be slow to increase and much reduced bud count. Look for sellers in your area that have successfully grown these beauties to see how they do with a zone 4 winter. I would hate for you to sink a lot of money into plants and have them not perform. Check out Karol Emmerich's daylilies, another northern site is Daylilies on Ice, Melanie Mason and sorry I can't remember her garden name. If you go the Charlottes website and click on the hybridizer link, you should be able to find some gorgeous plants plus you should find other growers in your zone. Hybridizing is addicting! Brooke

Hi Julia, I have a few planted around some lilies with no problem at all. I picked a spot that only got morning sun as not to burn my hosta and it has worked out fine. I would think they would be fine like cody said as long as they don't get the hot afternoon sun. Not sure about disease because I don't remember my lilies or my hosta ever having any kind of disease. If they did I just didn't know they had it. lol!! Love to grow all sorts of plants but not an expert on any. ha ha!! Judy
