Conservation area from my walk.

When I bought this seven or eight years ago as a root in a bag, I think it was labeled "Regal Lily", not sure. It always grows tall, but never has had this many blooms.

And look what appeared in a nearby border this year! I knew a lily has been struggling to grow there for some time but never reached blooming stage. I had no idea it was the same lily.

Thanks for all the pics everyone. I love looking at them. The flowers

are beautiful. Must be a good year for Lilies here too...my Stargazers are

loaded...and it has been hot, muggy and rainy.

Great pictures everyone. Loved seeing the lighthouse through the opening between those two rocks and all of the beautiful lilies.

Found my first painted rock yesterday.

Annie, you gonna pass it on? What's its origin?

Cabrillo National Monument overlooking the city of San Diego in the distance.

Roses in the International Rose Test Garden in Portland. The fragrance is wonderful.

My stargazers were huge and abundant.

Stargazers are also so fragrant, very nice.

It was a local rock...I just moved it for someone else to find.

Bridge I crossed today

Weird! Now one picture is here twice...I better just leave

Yes, my white Regal lily is beautiful, but she is a back-stabber! I took that photo this morning, later I had to change clothes for an appt. Came back and went to put my favorite comfy t-shirt back on. Then I see all these orange stains on the back of one shoulder. I had leaned down to pick a weed right under the lily not even knowing she'd "tap" me. Ugh.

Shout stain remover didn't work. :( That pollen is like a dye.

Dang I miss visiting Cabrillo. Love seeing your pictures Dawn; brings back some nice memories.

gyr_falcon, I was in San Diego for three weeks back in May and had the good fortune to spend a day there. What an absolutely beautiful place - I took close to 200 photos that day. Thank goodness for digital cameras; no worrying about how much film one is using!

Glad you have enjoyed the photos. I imagine I'll be posting more of them over the next few months as they work so well with many of Casey's daily themes.

I look forward to seen your photos Dawn. Actually, I look forward to all of them, but Memory Lane is fun, too. San Diego isn't that far from where I live, but the traffic the way it is now is a trip killer. Used to be you could go on the weekends and be ok, but that isn't the case anymore.

I know I'm a day late, but Annie's rock picture made me think of something that happened here this week. There is a local Facebook page for my area and a mom posted that her kids had just finished painting rocks in honor of their kitty cat who was to cross over the bridge later that day. The kids hid the rocks in a local park and then invited people to go find them and post their pictures on her post. I went with a friend and we found one. I thought it was such a sweet gesture. Here is the one I found.
