Great Blue Lobelia… NOT!

I got a plant in a garden club sale that was supposed to be Great
Blue Lobelia.

When it bloomed I saw it was a white rayed aster-like flower,
which I really think is a common roadside weed.

Look at the plant with the dry seed pods at upper right:

I took some additional photos of the seed pods. The other pictures I took of this plant
turned out too blurry to use. There is a month span maybe from the first to the last photo:

I saw today that …wait a second…a month later, new flowers
are forming?! Quite different from the previous ones. I realized what I have
are TWO unknown plants. The aster-like plant (still visible at upper right) has
narrower leaves and you can still see the pods. The other plant I can see now will be larger and has almost completely
taken over. Looks like a blackeyed susan or some form of rudbeckia?

What do you say? Weeds? Just 2 different ones? Or one weed and one common flower? Thanks!

I think the second plant is Lobelia. Could you get a clearer pic on the first?

Larger plant has foliage like the lobelia.

Really? Oh, I hope so! I've only seen the picture of lobelia, and not at this phase of bud formation.
