Is there a grout color that's LIGHTER than the very popular Platinum from HD's Custom Polyblend? I just had a mosaic carrara marble backsplash installed. I had them grout a spare piece with bright white and with platinum. Surprisingly, the Platinum changes the tone of the entire tile making it seem much grayer. If you look from a few feet away at the tile, you'd swear that the half thats grouted with Platinum is much darker marble than the half that's grouted white. Given this, I was wondering if there was a lighter gray than Platinum that was out there. Any suggestions? (please have a look at the photo) Here is a link that might be useful: Grout Picture

Thank you. I have been leaning toward the lighter gray but we have gone back and forth. I'm not sure what we will do with the long wall with no cabinets. I didn't want more cabinets because it would make it feel more closed in and it is a small space. Plus, there is a vent on the ceiling that we couldn't block. I'm thinking are work or maybe shelving. The tall shelf was an after thought and wasn't originally in the plan.

A house with wood floors and white trim can use almost any wall color. The only piece of the puzzle I can't see are the 'white granite' counters you mention. I wouldn't select paint color until you have at least a sample of the counter, and the backsplash to go with it. There are many whites and some will look better with your materials than others. Many people (and even some designers) try to put warm whites like White Dove with everything, but they don't look that good with blue-grays like Carrara. But as far as Light French Gray, it can lean blue in some lighting conditions. Whatever you consider, you'll want to try large sample areas on the wall before you decide. Another thing, if you haven't already - I'd remove all those window treatments (esp in kitchen) to let in as much light as possible. Consider roller shades or cell shades instead, things that can mostly be all the way up or down as needed. Avoid plantation shutters, their frames block 30% of the light, even when tilted open. Place a couple mirrors opposite a window to reflect more light in to the space. If the wiring is easily accessible, you might add a few can lights to the kitchen ceiling.

isabel98 this is not for you to do as it is the job of the tile installer to take care of. Just look at the variety of tools available in the market to help in the removal of grout.. While I know it is a lot of work, it will not compare to down the line where you have to replace the tile and grout...while you can get this done right I would advise you to put it on them. Their error. No patch jobs accepted.
