They are selling this alive and growing on ebay and I wondered if anyone has tried it or knows anything about it? I wanted something for a shady area as a ground cover.

It's Akebia quinata "Alba". I have a few varieties of akebias and haven't had any problems with invasiveness. It's a pretty vine and the fruit pulp has an interesting flavor. Here is a link that might be useful: Akebia

Vanilla orchid is not a rampant grower, so it may just be "resting." The salesman was correct in his advice. I once propped a cutting against a Golden Rain tree and it eventually took root on the trunk and bloomed. The flowers only last a day, as I recall. It's more a conversation piece than a spectacular bloomer. Patience!

Thanks everyone. I will try the other board. I had not even thought of looking inside. This makes it even more interesting! The seeds look like nothing I've ever seen before.
