I am so glad you made this video with the name of the bee balm. I watched your other video with the Hummingbird and the American Goldfinch... and I was wondering what was that flower the hummingbird was enjoying so much?

Now I know and I will be planting some in my yard.

They really like the Jacob Cline. I planted some Raspberry Wine and they don't touch it.

Good to know because I want to welcome the Hummingbirds...some times there are differences that we cannot discern but the wildlife obviously has preference. :)

Jacob Cline is a favorite of the broad tailed hummers in my yard as well. Sadly it's a very weak grower for me and the spindly stems can't support the large flowers, especially with our near constant wind. I did try and experiment by cutting them shorter earlier in the summer so they don't get as tall and that seemed to help.

I only have Raspberry Wine...the Rufous and Black-chinned Hummingbirds do use it, but I think with me, the bumblebees drain the flowers of nectar pretty quick, so by afternoon, the hummers are visiting other flowers more often that the bees can't access, like Cuphea and Agastache.
