just have them tint a base white w/pure black. no other tint color. look at BM gray cloud or Sweet Innocence for color match.

What made you want to look at Dunn Edwards over getting another color from Sherwin Williams? Not that there's anything wrong with that just curious. I like Dunn Edwards a lot myself, the way they've set up their color palettes online are something I thought was especially helpful and really easy to use when I was choosing color(s) in 2016 for a total interior refresh. They are limited to only certain states, sadly the one that the mister and I are moving to next month is not one they currently operate in, so we've settled for Sherwin Williams.

When you adjust a formula, you end up with a completely new and different color. It doesn't always work out as well as some would lead you to believe. You don't know what you're going to get until you have it mixed and dried - at that point you own the paint whether it's what you wanted or not.

Revere Pewter is a good example. Cut Revere Pewter by 50% and you get a color that looks like CSP-500 Whisper or 1471 Shoreline. It's not what people imagine or expect 50% Revere Pewter should look like

I'm choosing another DE color for the rest of my place so just thought I'd make it easier on my painter. Plus, DE has a coupon for free samples. :D

But yeah, quality very similar to SW. (I do find that DE's Velvet finish is slightly less glossy than the equivalent at SW.)

They do seem to have coupons for samples at DE year round, I went to get 3 colors when I was choosing paint and it might have been a slow time of year but the lady decided to give me all 3 free even though it's supposed to be buy one get one. :P

I asked my painter what brand(s) he prefers using and he said DE and SW.

Janet, I know this post is old but wanted to find out what color you decided to use?

I am testing DE6344 Wisp of Smoke as the main color for our condo and an accent wall in the living room in the next darker shade called Sparkling Frost DE6345.

I am in the southwest and Dunn Edwards paint is the best as far as I am concerned using it in the desert. Goes on so nice and smooth. I have no ties to the company but have painted many rentals and homes over the past 40 years.

After multiple swatches, I ended up with Sherwin-Williams on my bathroom color. I believe it was "Mild Blue", and I lightened it by 50%.

I love Dunn Edwards, wish they had it out here in Nebraska!
