We are getting ready to paint our house. ranch garage larger than house you can't see it but there is actually a large breezeway between the house and garage trim around windows and doors in house section (new) no-maintenance white we are keeping and don't want to paint high trim on garage is dark brown and we would rather not paint it, but can paint the lower dark brown trim on the garage house is T-111 textured siding and garage is metal We like yellow, blues, greys, fun vibrant greens. Please help us with color suggestions. Thanks so much!

Jck910 the roof will come before painting the home but I wanted to go ahead and close in the garage. I didn't think I could go wrong with a white door but now leaning towards a wood colored door.

I normally don't like blue but this is nice, with a orange front door. Paint the soffits a bright white, it will reflect more light into your house. For me the blue garage doors are a non-starter no matter what color scheme you go with. Don't bother painting them if they're old and should be replaced. Look at the garage doors in the picture below. Ones with windows look so much better. The roof in the second picture (I'm assuming this is your mock-up) is too dark. Very dark roofs absorb heat and just aren't practical. While I am not usually a fan of painting brick, because it's in your entryway it contributes to the entry porch looking dark and unwelcoming, so I don't think whitewashing or painting it would be a bad idea. Be sure you (if you're DIY) use a product appropriate for brick such as Romabio. I am not enthused about the idea of white with brown. White with black is the Modern Farmhouse look, but the style of your house is not MF. You also have white windows which you don't mention as being something you're thinking of changing. The picture below features a light to medium gray with a darker gray roof and white trim which is a nice classic look. If you don't like gray this scheme still works with almost any color of this saturation. If you do end up buying new garage doors it's easy to get them factory-finished in white. You can finish with a contrasting front door in many different colors, depending on what you like - blue, red, green, yellow. I just wouldn't use black since the front door is tucked away in the porch.
