Thanks for sharing your pictures! A rain garden would certainly absorb some of the standing water in the low spot behind your vegetable garden bed. If that is your first choice, I would go with that one. The only problem would be if water sits for extended amounts of time. How long does water usually stand for? Do you know how deep the groundwater table is? You will likely be able to answer those questions after you do a percolation test, which will be described in tomorrow's class!

Hi Patty! Looks like a good spot. You could put the rain garden farther down the hill, next to the driveway. Then you could put the pipe through/under the big shrub (if you didn't want to remove it.) Is the place you are thinking 10 feet away from the foundation?
