I like mine a lot. When it dies, I plan on getting another one. Mine has a 10" screen. I'll go up in screen size on the next one.

That's what I have been using for about 3 years. I like it, but I still stumble some because I am so used to windows. Being used to doing things a certain way for so many years you know, it ain't always easy to change.:)

I bought 2 chromeboxes. It turns out the pc style processor has the ability to process math that the chromebook cannot. This made certain data fields disappear from entry pages on our cloud based bookkeeping system. Who knew there was a diff?

I've had mine for about a year now. I haven't had any problems with it. Very easy to set up and get started with it.

Google took over the education market practically over night with free Chromebooks and free software for educators. Apple and Microsoft will eventually get pushed out of education unless they have something that is better than free.

Good to know. DD was pushing for a chromebook when we thought we might have to replace our laptop.

I bought a 13" Chrome two years ago for web surfing only while sitting on the couch and watching tv. Love it and love the battery 10 hour staying power. I only have to figure out how to tie it into my printer. Any tips?

Yes they have some apps for printing now. It depends on your printer the brand and is it cloud print ready and of course wireless. My sister was having problems with hers and she called chrome support and she said they were very nice and helped her do it in just a few minutes and that is impressive because she is not techie at all. I have not yet set up this one with my printer since I just got it.

Compared to a bare bones Windows laptop, a Chromebook can be a good way to save a few hundred bucks for users whose needs are basic and restricted mostly to surfing websites to read. If more than that is done, limitations and difficulties can be quickly encountered and the extra few hundred bucks to get something more familiar (a Windows PC) may be well spent. Also, hardware companies aren't created equally - I personally think there are better choices than HP, whether for Chromebooks or other flavors of PCs. Its reputation has been sliding in recent years.

Not the same thing, but I bought a Samsung tablet a couple of weeks ago mainly for traveling because I was finding my laptop kind of heavy to lug around airports. The touch screen was a learning curve, but I'm getting used to it and am finding I'm using it more often than my laptop now even when not traveling.

I can do a lot more with my Chromebook than I originally thought. Google Docs is a good replacement for Office. I found a great app for manipulating images (Pixlr editor. And another one that's a good, though simple, database. (Airtable). The Google tunes library is much better than iTunes. No regrets at all.

It definitely will not replace my tablets, I love them a lot! But I am certainly enjoying learning the many abilities this chromebook has. Everyone has their own preferences but I have never had a problem with an HP product. I have had multiple computers and other HP devices with great performance. I have also had ACER , ASUS, Lenovo also good products.

Many of my elderly friends and neighbors are wanting an alternative to windows this is going to be a good option for them since their needs are very simple tasks. The learning curve is minimal especially for those who were already familiar with Chrome browser and have it sync all their settings and bookmarks etc.

I am very pleased with it thus far. I did consider one of the flips that folds over to become a touchscreen tablet or a small laptop/notebook. But for now I wanted the bigger screen size and keyboard. My arthritis in my hands was getting bad from holding my tablet and phone in my hands this gives my hands a break and actually typing gives my fingers exercise they need. The touchpad is surprisingly responsive and I am actually liking it. I do have a usb mouse too for when I need it.

Dawn I am so used to my touchscreen tablets and phone when I first opened this thing, which does not have touchscreen, I thought it was broken because I kept touching the screen with no response lol. Duh ok no touchscreen here. I still reach up and touch the screen from time to time. we get programmed easily lol. I am also having to get used to not having immediate word suggestions pop up from my keyboard like on the tablet. I do miss my swiftkey keyboard lol
