too much sun, lack water or too much water??echeveria black princ
Comments (7)this is second pics, actually I already moved it to this smaller pot and make the rootball exposed again to the air and put it back to the coffee table next to glass door in my apartment. I don't think this is too much water, it looks dry on the yellow leaves...is it stressed out because I moved it with too much sun? I thought echeveria like fuller sun...or maybe because I never water it thoroughly because of traumatic with all the leaves drops and rotten before? when it gonna grow new rossettes on the stem>? I read it will grow new rossettes head on the stem, is it true?? should I water it or just let it be...?? please advise soon...help...i dont want to lose this again...See MoreHelp with Echeveria 'Black prince'
Comments (4)Id say your soil is too moisture retentive. A quick fix would be adding 50% perlite with 50% cacti and succulent soil. Depending on how much time and effort you want to invest into your plants, you could also search "Al's gritty mix" in the search tool bar. He explains about water retention and how it effects container growing on the container growing forum. Also almost forgot, you should check the roots on your succulents to make sure the roots are not black and slimy, which would be from overwatering in the soil you are using....See MoreNeed help with my Echeveria Black Prince
Comments (3)Certainly looks like it's in trouble. Agree with Rina. The thing is, leaving it out to "dry" may not be the total answer. As Rina said, if there's rot, the only thing to do is cut the stem back to healthy tissue, allow to callous for several days and plant in some type of gritty mix and water VERY sparingly, if at all until new roots appear on the stem. If all else fails, not to worry as this is a somewhat common Echeveria and it wouldn't be the first plant most of us have lost! If you can't locate more at a BBS, let me know as I'm certain we can work something out....See MoreEcheveria black prince id?
Comments (4)Yes, it's a variant of black prince echeveria but there doesn't seem to be a name...I have seen it a few places, but recently here. This seller buys from Indonesia I believe: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1432026367018417/permalink/1922228891331493/?sale_post_id=1922228891331493...See MoreKatherine (SC 9a)
