First of all, the wall color really isn't working. Maybe this is a trick of the light in the photo, but the walls look beige and the carpet gray. If you're up for repainting, try a color that is darker than what is there to create more contrast with the leather sofas, maybe a blue-green so that it would complement the rug and blue chair. Or lay an area rug down over the carpet to minimize its effect. I realize people get attached to their recliners, but that is too much leather furniture in one room for my taste. Each piece is fine by itself, but they don't go together. Keep the one you prefer and find another to coordinate with it. It's also OK to hang a pair or three in an arrangement over a sofa.
