Make-Ahead meals for college student?
Comments (16)Guess I am with you Khandi. My son is used to having home cooked meals. He actually doesn't care to eat out. And college meal plans are rather expensive. He is trying to get by without any college debt. Yes, he has learned to cook and shop for himself. But, I know he'll be busy with tough classes, working and having some fun in college clubs (running, hiking, climbing, etc). I am planning to put together some simple recipes in a book. I will also be going up once in a while (3 hours away) and when I do, I'll be throwing together a few freezer meals for him to dump in a crock pot. I don't think there is any shame in that. It means you love your child and want them to eat healthy meals. I have always cooked at home, he has always seen me cook and I know he's learned the value in that to carry on for himself. Home cooking teaches them the value of a dollar and a healthy lifestyle. Good luck to your daughter and I'm so glad there are caring parents out there :)...See MoreGift ideas for college student studying abroad
Comments (19)Great suggestions! I was going to suggest a gift pack for Ryan Air so he can easily hop around the continent and a rolling travel duffel. Our DD studied for a year in London and her weekends were busy with travel. Maybe a gift card to Harrods? Some Tube tickets? Some Euro's in his stocking?...See MoreDurham College Student Seeking Help

Comments (35)My youngest is graduating with his B.S. next month. He is a very smart kid but some of his decisions leave me scratching my head. Instead of looking for an internship his junior year he worked for the IT Department at his school in a position that is limited to current students. We suggested he consider an internship, he said not necessary. I think that after the fact he wished that he had gone the internship route, when he saw friends getting hired at the companies where the interned. He just started looking for a job last month. Earlier he was involved in a huge project, then he took forever to get his resume together. Now with Covid-19 very few people are hiring. Not sure what he is going to do when he comes home. He is still at school for 3 more weeks. Maybe the right opportunity will present itself, his degree is for Data Analytics and that can be done from home, but there needs to be data to analyze....See Moresabella_blanc
