We only had two days in Honduras, and much of them were spent in a speeding bus traveling most of the way across the country from the ship, which was docked on the Caribbean, to Copan Ruinas, but we really loved the town. Comments (9)Gazania, I've been enjoying seeing them in my yard too. They ate the milkweed down to sticks and now are on the butterfly weed. Comments (19)Thanks, Jasdip. She did. She passed on in 2007. She was 10 years old when I got Rocket as a kitten. He tormented her every day of the last two years of her life. I often regretted having him, but did what I could to keep her life from being too miserable. Comments (28)Bob, that photo is really great. You should submit it to a nature magazine, like Birds and Blooms maybe. Oh I hate bald faced hornets. They are soooo aggressive. I had a bunch chase me the house one day and when I slammed the screen door they were hanging on to the screen! I inadvertently mowed under their big nest they were building under the eaves of the old outhouse. The spider in your photo with the green - I don't think I've ever seen that before....See More
9 years agolast modified: 9 years agoMy 4th of July emergency. He had infected anal glands, one had to be lanced. He's sitting on a "warm pack", taking antibiotics. The chair where he watches birds is covered with a towel.....I feel so sorry for him.....

9 years agoI was thrilled a few years ago to check a major item off my bucket list, that of visiting the Library of Congress in Washington. The LC has a huge influence on libraries with its classification system, subject headings, enormous database and likely much more. The interior of the building is beautiful and the 2nd photo shows some of its lovely art and architecture.
