I was excited to see 2 replies for my request and it turns out all I did was upset people! Kay and Karyn, If I have offended you with my request I apologise. I know the cost of these plants which is why I thought I would see if anyone would be kind enough to trade. I realize my list isn't the most glamourous which is why I was willing to do multiple trades for 1 plant. Once again I'm sorry if I have offended you. If they are near you, it might be worth a visit. Not to beat a dead horse, but as the previous posters have said, a good site with suitable growing conditions is very important. They are not as difficult as many of the myths out there, but the growing conditions must be right or they will not survive beyond a year or two. Bought the lady slipper! $7.99 for a decently sized one in a 3" pot... Very "little shop of horrors" looking. I love it. I also managed to get a few more photos of the non phals at Trader Joe's today - fairly new to all the other varieties but I'll venture my guess as to what they are (if I butcher it then feel free to correct me)... Some sort of oncidium: Miltoniopsis? ??? No idea but it looked cool Maybe a mini dendrobium to the left and a very handsome green lady slipper to the right. Ok that's the end of it... I stopped taking photos because people were looking at me funny.

"Lady slipper" refers to several different genera of orchids with very different cultural requirements -- hence the issue with common names. Even amongst a genus, there can be significant differences in what the plants require. In general, none of the paphs like to dry out completely, but nor do most like to stay wet. (Actually surprised yours is still alive, Jordan, if you're only watering once every two weeks. Most would be dead by then. But then too, in many people's homes, drying out would happen much quicker.). The mottled leaf species and hybrids desire less light than those with plain green leaves. Particularly if using fertilizer and tap water, make sure every few waterings to throughly flush the media with copious amounts of water to prevent the build up of mineral salts which can otherwise buildup to root killing levels. Su, the plants in your photo are Cypripedium. In the US, all naturally populations are protected by law and carry significant fines for those who dig them up. (Those occurring on private property can be removed by the owner without penalty.) Transplants from the wild typically die in short order. They do NOT make good houseplants. I don't know of anyone who successfully grows them as such. Rosie, you should have attended one of the orchids shows .... always have some paphs there for sale. :-)
