Bosch Nexxt Dryer 'Lint Filter' Alarm
Comments (25). . Bosch nexxt gas dryer - error code e-01 ,,,, E-01 saying - clean lint filter ........... our dryer kept buzzing .. no matter what we tried . we over cleaned lint filter in sink with soap and tooth brush and had company come in and clean duct inside wall . nothing worked. * so we took dryer apart and discovered the dryer blower squirrel cage down stream / past the lint trap ..... was completely blocked/clogged from a bad Bosch design in the dryer tub.. itself inside dryer , on the right hand side far right last 2 inches ....when you look inside dryer....... the plastic vent leading to lint filter trap --- allows large amounts of lint to bypass the filter screen itself and this leads to the squirrel cage pulling the wet lint into the impeller blades ... lots of lint... (that should have been caught by filter ) too much lint which clogged blower and the dryer would no longer work correctly . ( blower could not create any air discharge pressure at all ) causing error code ) once we took the entire dryer part and cleaned the blower box and impeller blades . the dryer now works like new again and no more annoying lint error code noisy buzzer .. ...a bad Bosch design allows lint to bypass trap. so it will eventually need to be done again. this amount of lint in the blower motor ... prevents dryer from functioning normally...See MoreFilter for washing machine outflow?
Comments (18)I'm not sure what the clog was. He said it was real far down, like 70 feet if I remember. While he was working the clog, I remembered the rugs and brought it up. At that point, he said that's probably what the clog was and that rug lint is probably the largest contributor to clogs that he sees. I should add something else to the story. The previous owners ran an animal shelter at the house. They never spent a dime on upkeep. It was scary! There was hair everywhere. It's clear that they washed a lot of rugs and hairy animal stuff in the oversized washer. On the outside of the house, opposite the washer, there is an overflow pipe coming out of the wall. Before my clog, the washer water would drain out this pipe. I thought it was strange, but it didn't surprise me. Once I had the clog fixed, the water stopped draining out this pipe. So then a light bulb went off in my head. Instead of paying Roto Rooter $100 to come clear the drain, they banged a hole in the wall and rerouted the water through a new pipe. And then never got it fixed. Nice! With all that being said, I think I'm walking a fine line. I get your point though about the standpipe. Digging that up would be a much bigger expense than another $100 on Roto Rooter. So maybe I just need to think of something different - like a giant funnel with a screen. The lint in the picture is enough to fill that filter up after about eight loads. When that stuff is going down the drainpipes, wouldn't it eventually get stuck somewhere along the way before 70 feet? Thanks! -Melbeach...See MoreNeed to clean my washing machine
Comments (58)So to reiterate, it's not my washer, it's in my parents' rental. The tenant was apparently kind of clueless when it came to appliances. Mold and mildew fortunately doesn't seem to a problem, it's a combo of a year's worth of limescale from the very hard water, massive buildup from overdosed liquid detergent and fabric softener, and I'm sure a lovely biofilm as well. I believe the bulk of the detergent residue is gone at this point, so it's mostly a matter of getting the scale off the drum, which may take a couple of washes. The scum on the boot and outer edge of the casket will also need to be cleaned off manually, but I think I'm going to let my parents deal with that parent ;) @Sparky, that's interesting about them recommending cold water with the vinegar wash, and it does make a certain amount of sense. I know citric acid has to be used hot, but that's because calcium citrate isn't very soluble at lower temperatures. In my own experience vinegar isn't the best at dealing with scale, but it's great at taking off hard water soap scum. We always just pour it straight into the tub or wherever, without any hot water, let it sit for a while and the soap scum usually comes off in flakes when you scrub it....See MoreDryer lint filter question
Comments (5)Twenty years ago I lived next door to someone who didn't used the lint filter. Blue and gray lint would blow out in my yard. I really didn't like those people very much. Ironically, my dryer won't run if the lint screen isn't in place. Yes, dryer lint is highly flammable from what I've read. Why take a chance? Lint build-up also hinders the dryer from doing it's job and can make your limited warranty invalid. I've got two cats and wash their bedding (usually my quilt) every week or two. The cat fur during shedding season can be the equivalent of a third cat coming off that dryer screen. Some people put out their dryer lint for birds to use for nests. Some people use it in their compost....See Morebac717
