I found this plant at walmart in the trash....have no idea what it is. Would someone please let me know.......photo is enclosed

that plant appears to me to be a white oak (tree). I live in Stafford, Connecticut (USA) and they are very common here as we are surrounded by forest. They often pop up amongst my perennials. Margyrose

Thank you I think you have nailed it- i will add a picture of the tree we have in the garden. I actually compared the leaves the other day and they were so similar just different textures I just thought it couldn't possibily be a tree as there are so many I thought it must be a weed. Sadly there is no more room for trees so I best dig them all up and thanks for the tip even the small new growth was hard to pull up so not looking forward to the larger ones!!!

My guess would be Hemionitis arifolia.
